Be happy and live longer
There is a new study out that says happy older people have a 35% less chance of dying than people who are unhappy. While I certainly realize that being happy is important, I didn’t realize that being unhappy could have such dire consequences. Unfortunately, many people find that there is no easy happy formula.
Many of the elements of being happy are pretty basic. Strong social relationships like family and friends are key to being happy. Some element of financial security may be important. Apparently being happy not only means you will live longer but it can affect quality of life. For instance, did you know that happy people are less likely to catch a cold?
The truth is there is no happy pill. This test was done without the benefit of mother’s little helper. Besides, anti-depressants may make you less depressed but may not make you happy… Only you can do that.
Now time for me to do my part.
