I’ll just buy a bar-The Old Crow Bar

It was only a couple weeks ago I posted on my love for bars. I have so often heard, around closing time, a group of friends declare “We should buy a bar.” Well friends, I have done just that. Part of me is as excited as a school girl and part of me is experiencing sheer terror and night sweats. It is certainly a big responsibility but one I embrace.
From my years of restaurant, bar and nightclub management, this is what I’ve learned. A name is is important. It has something to do with feng shui. The name of the new place will be the Old Crow Bar. A little play on words and a mix of old and new.
Next, live music is important. It’s important to me and to the atmosphere I want others to experience. So I’m building a huge stage with concert-like lighting. I want to bring all kinds of quality entertainment to the masses and have already booked classic rock, indie, country and bluegrass acts.
Finally, atmosphere is everything. I know for a bar to be successful it has to be comfortable and safe. The place I am opening has had a few problems in the past, so I am going out of my way to make sure people will be able to kick back with no trouble. I want a place where everyone feels welcome.
Some say my partners and I are a little crazy for jumping in to this venture but hey, I love bars.
